Senior Electricity Market Analyst

About the position

You will work on developing and managing the European electricity market design to shape it to support societal development in Sweden.

Your tasks specifically include working with one or more of the following areas:

• the financial electricity market and congestion income
• capacity calculation
• electricity area analysis and counter trading.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop in international work and gradually take on a larger role in leading international working groups. There is also the opportunity to develop within one of the subject areas and become one of the leading experts in Europe in these fields.

The Wholesale Markets section is responsible for developing and managing electricity market design for long-term price hedging, the day-ahead market, and the intraday market, as well as ensuring that Svenska kraftnät complies with the regulations in REMIT and the transparency regulation. In addition, the section is responsible for Svenska kraftnät's work with continuity and civil preparedness. The section consists of 20 employees in the Pre-Market and Capacity units as well as Market Connection and Transparency. Within the section, there are junior and senior analyst roles as well as specialist roles.

About you

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you need to be able to collaborate constructively and unpretentiously with others. You find it easy to express your opinions and earn others' respect when presenting arguments. You work purposefully and methodically, plan and prioritize your work well, and complete tasks within given deadlines. You can analyze complex issues and contribute to solutions that consider both short- and long-term perspectives.

We are looking for someone who has:

• a master's degree in engineering in energy/electricity/power or a degree in economics or law with a focus on EU law or equivalent as assessed by the employer
• several years of work experience in a similar role within the electricity market, power system, energy system, or electric power.

You are fluent in both spoken and written Swedish and have very good skills in spoken and written English.

It is advantageous if you have knowledge and experience in:

• market design
• electricity trading, electricity market analysis
• financial markets
• capacity calculation
• interpretation and revision of EU law
• international agreements.
